Super Bowl Appetizers: Your Super Snacking Guide

Appetizers, Entertaining, Paleo

Here it is! Your one-stop super bowl appetizers guide. These recipes are incredibly delicious, make ahead compatible, and neighbor approved.

Let’s be clear, I’m just here for the snacks. I’m not 100% clear on who is playing in the Super Bowl. Not really sure who is even performing in the halftime show. But here’s what I do know, this is one of my favorite events to gather people for all day snacking. There will be mingling, the occasional conversation about the score (we’re not animals), and all around intense judging of the commercials. (We take these very seriously.)

Last year my friends and I did a Super Ladies Bowl. Somehow all the guys/boyfriends/husbands of our group were gone. This did not deter us. We got together. We turned on the super bowl. Our snack and drink game was on point.

Here’s what I’m making (again) this year!

Super Bowl Appetizers

Sweet and Spicy Chicken Wings

Please hear me when I tell you that making your own crispy, saucy chicken wings are much easier than you think. And the taste is out of this world. Last year I brought these to our gathering and a few of the girls informed me that they don’t like wings.

Fast forward to the wings coming out of the oven, they were devoured. Especially by the girls who were unsure. They have already been requested for this year’s gathering. Pro tip: a few days before, make a batch of this herb dressing for dipping. These two go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Bacon Wrapped Sweet Potato Fries

You cannot go wrong with these. You can also assemble them the night before. They will make your house smell amazing. Pro tip: serve these fries with maple syrup or sriracha ketchup.

Baked Fontina Cheese

This one is a no brainer. It comes together in minutes and it also performs the great disappearing act as soon as it comes out of the oven. I always get asked for this recipe whenever I serve it. This is a for sure crowd pleaser.

The Best Homemade Salsa

Listen, salsa is always a good idea. But it is especially a good idea for the Super Bowl! Trust. This salsa comes together so fast and it truly is filled with so much flavor. Pro tip: make it the day ahead to let the flavors develop!

Coconut Lime Spritzer

If you want to serve a beverage besides soda or alcohol, this coconut spritzer is a refreshing pop of brightness. Super easy and you can even set out the ingredients (only 3 ingredients!) and have your guests assemble as they like.

Sheet Pan Nachos

I make these a few hours into the party. Just grab chips and everything you like on your nachos. Build the whole thing on a sheet pan, bake in the oven until the cheese is melted and bring out to the table. Watch as everyone gathers around and munches down on these nachos!

Sweet & Spicy Shredded Chicken Sliders with Sweet Potato Buns

If you want something a little more substantial, I got you. These sliders are bursting with flavor. The sauce used on the shredded chicken is the same sauce we use on the wings, so you can just make a double batch of the sauce if you serve both. This is the most frequent comment I get on this recipe, “I made these and now my husband requests them at least once a week.” So, there’s that.

Chocolate Dipped Oranges

If you need something sweet and not fussy, these chocolate dipped oranges will satisfy that sweet-tooth. It’s a crazy delicious combination of citrus and dark chocolate all enhanced with a sprinkle of salt.

Mascarpone Stuffed Mushrooms

This is my new favorite appetizer to make. They were on heavy rotation for all my holiday gatherings and I am 100% confident they will be making an appearance at the Super Bowl party.

And there we have it! Whether you like watching football or are all about that snack life (or both!) I hope you have fun gathering and eating!

Now tell me, which of these are you going to make for your Super Bowl Party?!
