Listen to me when I say, I don’t think it would necessarily be safe to put an air conditioner in your mouth.
It’s probably not possible.
But I feel the way the interwebs are going these days, I just need to make a disclaimer – it’s probably not a good idea to put an ac in your mouth.
BUT, on those hot days when the thought crosses your mind…and I feel like the thought does cross your mind (or is it just me?)…I have a better option 😉
How about a summer spritzer?
Alcoholic? Yes. AC in your mouth. Oh, you have no idea.
But you’re about to.
Refreshing Summer Spritzer
I specifically made this drink for the 4th of July. But after Beau and I tested it, we decided it will be making its appearance on many a summer day.
Fresh blueberries and FROZEN raspberries (we’ll get to that in a second) and a lemon will be our base.
Add 2 tablespoons of fresh blueberries to a jar.
Then 1 ounce blueberry vodka. Be sure to smell this blueberry vodka. I couldn’t stop smelling it. It was like opening a jar of summer! If you just have regular vodka, stick with that but double the amount of fresh blueberries.
Sugar is optional. I didn’t add it and the drink was not too tart at all. But if you want a little sweetness add your sweetener of choice (1 teaspoon) to the jar.
Muddle everything in the jar.
Add 1 cup ice.
Shake. Shake. Shake.
Pour it into your cup of choice!
Add a splash of raspberry liqueur. If you have made these brownies true to form – you probably already have the raspberry liqueur. We use it ALL the time because it tastes so yummy and it smells like fresh raspberry preserves.
Then fill the cup up with ginger beer. Ginger beer is best know for the popular drink the Moscow Mule. Also refreshing! It is not alcoholic (think root beer but with a ginger flavor). I found ginger beer in World Market (and I also believe it is in Whole Foods). But if you can’t find it just grab club soda – yum!! (UPDATED NOTE: I have come to enjoy this more with club soda. Ginger beer can have a very distinct taste!)
To keep this drink really cool, how about some frozen raspberries.
Throw. Them. In.
Now, take a sip. And another. And another.
And go ahead and make another one 😉
So, lets recap:
Now, if you’re feeling particularly fancy you go ahead and run to Pier 1 Imports where they are having a sale on all things 4th of July. You will find these festive pinwheel toothpicks. Which are perfect as a little stirrer for your spritzer but also for stabbing the berries and eating them at your leisure!

Just curious – did you eat Hersey kisses and ball up the foil to get the decorations? I would have. 🙂
Miss you, friend!
Meg! I just miss you so very much, luv! Thank you so much for the sweet comment. Really brightened my day 🙂 And no, I found these little metallic balls on super discount at Pier 1 but the Hersey kisses idea is AMAZING! Will have to try that next time!
This drink looks so cool and refreshing for summer – a must try!
I want to try this!!

There’s no comment on how much lemon juice to use!
