Last Minute Thanksgiving Recipe Ideas

Entertaining, Recipes

Calling everyone who still needs a few last-minute Thanksgiving recipe ideas. I mean, for those of you who have your Thanksgiving meals planned and groceries purchased, I salute you.

But for those of us who are like, “Wait, it’s November?” I got you.

Here is a list of my all time favorite Thanksgiving recipes. Many of them are grain free and several are paleo optional! The are 100% delicious and all below recipes always make an appearance at my Thanksgiving table.

Appetizers

Mascarpone Stuffed Stuffed Mushrooms: I can (and have) devoured the whole batch of these stuffed mushrooms. First, they will make your house smell insanely delicious but also, I’ve taken these to every holiday gathering in the past three years and they disappear before I can get the tin foil off. They are that satisfying!

Baked Fontina Cheese: This dish is so perfect because you can prep the night before. Once guests start arriving put it in the oven for a few minutes for the cheese to get melty and then serve with veggies or bread. This is sure to hold your guests over until the main meal.

Bacon Wrapped Dates: Is there anything better than a perfect bite of salty and sweet? These little gems are so easy to make and they are perfect for your guests to pop into their mouths while they are mingling.

Sides

Savory Mashed Sweet Potatoes: This dish. If this dish were not at my Thanksgiving meal I would have to cancel Thanksgiving. Last year, I served these at our Friendsgiving and during the time we went around the table saying what we were thankful for, these sweet mashed potatoes were on most people’s list.

Grain Free Risotto with Mushroom and Shallots: If you are looking for a savory side that is grain free, this is perfect. It has the rustic, cozy feel with mushrooms, garlic and shallots while still being light and healthy.

Extra Cheesy Sweet Potato Gratin: Will I stop making recipes with sweet potatoes? No. Never. I love them too much! This is my take on gratin and it is just as cheesy, savory and tasty as ever.

Sheet Pan Brussels Sprouts with Bacon and Garlic: Looking for some greens? Crispy Brussels sprouts are always a hit. Only these come with crumbled bacon and roasted garlic.

Main Dish

Herb Roasted Turkey Breast: For the past three years I have not made a whole turkey. Either because there was a small group of people coming to the table or not everyone coming loves turkey (last year I made a bone-in turkey breast even though we had 18 people come). For those of you who want to have turkey at your Thanksgiving meal but do not want to cook a whole turkey, this recipe is for you!

And lastly, if you’re looking for a festive beverage to have on hand, be sure to make a batch of my holiday sangria
