Ingredients

Scale
  • One 28-ounce can whole tomatoes with juice
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
  • 1 jalapeño, quartered and sliced thin (remove seeds if you do not want a spicy salsa)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 whole lime, juiced

Instructions

  1. Combine the whole tomatoes (with juice), cilantro, onions, garlic, jalapeño, cumin, salt and lime juice in a blender or food processor.
  2. Process until you get the salsa to the consistency you like. I let the food processor run for about 15-20 seconds. Or pulse about 10 times. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  3. Refrigerate the salsa for at least an hour before serving.
