Orange Simple Syrup
Remove any wax from oranges by placing them into a heat safe bowl or sauce pan and pouring boiling water over them (enough to cover them).
Let them sit in the water for 5 minutes. Remove the oranges and use a cloth to wipe wax off. Wash under the sink.
In a small saucepan over medium low heat add 1 cup water and 1 cup superfine white sugar. Allow to come to a simmer for about 10 minutes or until the sugar dissolves.
Remove from heat and add orange peels. Cover pan and allow orange peels to steep for about 20-30 minutes.
Strain liquid into a jar with an airtight lid. Can stay in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
